The DS Smith Graduate Programme is a two or three year programme (three if you want to progress your career in one of our finance teams) that will take you around several DS Smith sites internationally.

This program has been specifically designed to offer early talent the opportunity to rapidly move into managerial roles within our business following completion of the program, we can genuinely offer you great career progression.

International setting: The programme will take you to several countries in Europe on your DS Smith journey. By joining the graduate programme, you will be given the opportunity to gain solid professional experience by working on strategic projects and develop your management skills.
It is important therefore that you are geographically flexible to be placed anywhere in the UK and Europe both during the Graduate Programme and beyond.

DS Smith is looking for ambitious recent graduates who have a track record of real achievement, significant leadership potential and a strong interest in pursuing a career in a dynamic and challenging manufacturing company.

Participants will be expected to rapidly produce tangible results in key areas such as: Operations, Sales, Marketing & Design, Finance & Commercial or Human Resources and will gain a broader view of the business even outside of your respective area of expertise.

In the medium term, DS Smith expect you to achieve an accelerated progression into a general management position with P&L responsibility or a senior functional leadership role.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Leadership potential and a strong interest in pursuing a career with a truly international organisation
  • Fluent in English and at least one other European language
  • Geographically mobile both during the Graduate Programme and beyond with a desire to work both in the UK and internationally in Europe
  • Some relevant work experience either gained in an internship and/or post-graduation employment
  • Presentation and communication skills
  • Drive, determination and a positive attitude
  • Managerial potential, a drive for results and eagerness for success
  • Engagement and strong commitment will be highly valued

Roles and Responsibilities

  • The DS Smith Graduate Programme is a two or three year programme (three if you want to progress your career in one of our finance teams)
  • You could be involved in any of the following areas: Operations, Sales, Corporate Affairs, Marketing & Design, Finance & Human Resources
  • You will gain in-depth knowledge of DS Smith and its dynamic working environment
  • You will be assigned a mentor to give you support and feedback on your performance and development
  • You will be involved in all the main Management Training Initiatives (like the EMP - Engaging Managers Programme) preparing you for management
