We currently have an opportunity for a Placement Year Building Surveyor within our Building Surveying team based in London. The successful person will become part of a respected and ambitious company with excellent career prospects and international opportunities.

You will join us in the summer period and join our community of interns under our programme called Jacobs Campus. This programme will allow you to work with a mentor who will work with you in identifying areas of learning so that when you leave you have a portfolio of learning experiences to make reference to. There will also be opportunities to network through your community and other networks across Jacobs in various experiences that will be on offer.

 

Qualifications

The successful candidate will be in the process of completing an RICS accredited degree in Building Surveying and looking for a 3rd year placement.

The role will be to work as part of the Building Surveying team in central London on a wide variety of projects from small reactive maintenance projects to £1m+ refurbishment projects.

For this role we are looking for someone with the following abilities:

  • Specification and tender document writing
  • Undertaking building defect inspections and reports
  • Working with contractors and other disciplines within Jacobs
  • Project management and Contract administration
  • Working on and an interest in, heritage buildings
  • Good understanding of AutoCad and Microsoft programs
